Nova Option-Main Body Zip Set Up for Left Handers

The front zip on Nova's usually run from the left shoulder to right hip. This option reverses this, the zip running from the right shoulder to left hip. With this system fitted to a Nova drysuit you can change the neck seal on a drysuit in a matter of minutes without the use of adhesives. This comes with the Siflex (silicon) neck seal which has much more resistance to the degrading effects of UV and ozone. Because of the greater stretchiness of silicon over latex, one size (when trimmed) fits all. The silicon Silflex seal is also good for people that have an allergy to latex.

To take full advantage of this system do not forget to order a spare neck seal to keep in your kit bag for quick at dive site neck seal changes!

Dry Suit Option - Warm Neck Standard Velcro

A warm neck system allows for a correctly shaped hood to be secured at its bottom edge. This eliminates any cold spots in this area that may occur with a latex neck seal. Made from 3mm Armatex neoprene it is bonded onto the suit, and is adjusted by two Velcro sections. This option is only suitable with latex neck seals (or Siflex neck system).

Dry Suit Option - Warm Neck Simple

As above but without the Velcro adjustment. It is designed to sit flatter and not so far up the neck. Without the Velcro it is less easy to catch the yoke of the hood underneath, however once the hood is inserted it does make head/neck movement easier as it is less bulky.

Nova Option-3mm Neoprene Neck Seal

Neoprene seals are considered to be warmer, more comfortable to wear and easier to make temporary repairs to. Their downsides are that they are tighter to take on and off are more difficult to maintain a perfectly watertight seal. Made from 3mm neoprene with high stretch nylon on one side and a "Glide Skin" finish on the other. They are designed to be tucked back inside creating the best possible seal on the neck.

Dry Suit Option - Swap from Bottle to Cone Wrist seals

Select this option if you have previously selected a latex wrist option but you would like the seals to be cone shaped instead of bottle shaped.

Latex seals are available in two different shapes (as well as standard and heavy duty thickness).Bottle seals have a 40mm parallel section at the end which sit comfortably on the wrist. We have fitted bottle wrists as the nom for many years and when correctly sized to the wearer, they offer a good balance between comfort, wrist sealing and ease of dressing. There are some people who prefer the cone type as they feel that the tapered end "bites" more firmly into the skin of the wrist giving a better seal this high fitting up the wrist also can reduce any interference from under suit sleeve ends. The smaller sealing area of cone seals can avoid the channels caused by wrist tendons that can cause leaks with some divers. Cone wrist have ring trimming guides to further adjust the fit. The shoulder section of bottles seals makes the fitting of any dryglove ring system much easier.
If you are unsure which to go for the safe bet is go with the bottle type.

Nova Option-SiTech Docking System 60910 fitted

This Quick Cuff ring system is glued to the drysuit. Latex or Siflex seals (see below to specify Siflex wrist seals) can be very easily changed at the dive site or boat without the use of any glues. Normal dive gloves can be worn, or the SiTech dry glove system can be docked into place.
To take full advantage of this system do not forget to order a spare pair of wrist seals to keep in your kit bag for quick on dive site cuff changes!

The QCS Oval cuff ring system has an oval and narrow design and you will not be bothered by the rings during the dive or on land as some poeple find the round rings too bulky. They do feel much less cumbersome and even the biggest hands seem able to pass tghrough them. These at the moment do not have a dryglove system that fits on to them, although one is development and hopefully being lauched before Autum 2011we have no details of price at the moment
The QCS Oval enables quick exchange of wrist seals, which is perfect when the suit needs to have different sizes of seals or wish to run the lastest silicon seals. Also if you have ripped a seal when just ready to jump into the water this will help you. The exchange is made in a few minutes.
System comes with "one size fits all" Siflex bottle cuffs.

Dry Suit Option - Old-style High Profile Apeks Dump Valve

Some people still prefer the old-style Apeks Auto dump APO158, finding it easier to use. However please note that the quoted flow rates are a third of the new design low-profile units. There is no cost to make this change.

Dry Suit Option - Move Dump (DIR)

The standard position for the automatic dump (which is standard on the Nova drysuit) is well up on the left upper arm facing slightly forward. This offers the best compromise between ease of dumping air and also being easily reached with the right hand should a loss of buoyancy from your BCD mean you need to close the valve to allow air to be retained within the drysuit. For those divers who prefer to maintain a horizontal position at all times during a dive (or have to due to confines of space) then a valve position a little further down the arm (11cm) and further round to the outside of the arm (6cm) is preferred. This change aids air dumping when horizontal but can hinder valve operation if the suit is worn with thicker undersuits and certain kit configurations. It also makes donning one piece webbing harnesses easier. Here we call this the "DIR" position as it is favoured by those divers, but it is by no means restricted to that community. Just be aware that if you need to shut the dump down quickly then its access is reduced.
There is no extra cost to switch to this position.

Dry Suit Option - Move Adjustable Dump to wrist (Rebreather)

When using rebreathers with front mounted counter lungs some people find that adjustment of "shoulder mounted" dump valves is restricted. This option repositions the dump valve to the left wrist position. This option is for experienced closed circuit divers who understand the correct use of the exhaust valve when it is in the cuff position. We recommend that you also select "Dry Suit Option - SiTech Valve System (inc hose)" due to the smaller diameter of the SiTech dump valve fitting better into the cuff position.
There is no cost to change simply use the "add to cart" button if you wish this option for your dry suit.

Dry Suit Option - Cuff Dump Instead of Auto Adjustable

This option adds an additional cuff dump fitted to the left wrist as well as the standard adjustable shoulder dump. Some people prefer to run the two valves together and if you are used to this method or not 100% about adjustable valves it can be very successful.

Dry Suit Option - Swap Std Seatec Nipple for a CENJ type

This option swaps the Apeks swivel inflator with a Seatec nipple (fitted as stanadard) for one with a CENJ nipple. The Seatec or "International" fitting is the connector commonly used for BC and wing inflators. Whereas the Apecks coupling will push straight together the Seatec requires the collar on the hose to be pulled back while pushing it onto the valve. The hose supplied with your suit will be matched to the valve nipple type.

Dry Suit Option - Increase the Length of the LP Hose

In most cases the standard 74cm low pressure hose is the ideal length. If you have a chest measurement over 130cm, or with some twin sets, a longer 89cm hose makes connecting to the inflation valve easier.

Dry Suit Option - SITech Valve System (including hose)

An alternative to a Apeks set up these are excellent dry suit valves from Sweden. This "push" inflator is operated in the normal way. The nipple type is "International". The 80cm inflator hose is a simple push fit. The unique internally fitted valve patch gives a neat external finish to the suit and allows us to mount it closer to suit seams.

Dry Suit Option - Inflation Valve Comfort Patch

A 7mm neoprene patch that is attatched behind the inflation valve by Velcro. This reduces any discomfort caused by the valve backing plate being pressed into your chest and also deflects cold air from being forced through your undersuit when the inflator is operated.

Nova Option-Heavy Duty Latex Boots

Heavy duty latex boots offer even greater durability than the standard neoprene boots. The addition of a heel makes them ideal for walking and ladder climbing, making them the first choice for Police and rescue divers. They still require additional socks to compensate for the reduced insulation (see Thinsulate sox).

Nova Option-Standard Latex Boot

These boots are an excellent choice for expedition divers trying to keep the weight of their gear to a minimum. Flexible and light they do require more thermal insulation to be worn on the feet than the normal neoprene boots.

Nova Option-Compressed Neoprene Socks

As an alternative to having boots attached to the suit, 3mm compressed neoprene socks can be bonded on. When diving a conventional pair of wetsuit boots, or some form of "rock boots", are worn over the top. This system is warm and very much reduces the air that can become trapped around the feet. Care should be taken not to walk distances in these as there is a risk of them becoming punctured.
They also have the advantage of enabling the suit to be completely turned inside out for easy drying and servicing.
There is no additional charge to specify these socks.

Please select this option if you have a foot size of 37 and below, or 51 and above, as drysuit boots are not availble in these sizes but we can make compressed socks to fit.

Nova Option-Reflective Tape Kit

Nova Option-Ankle Weights for Nova Suits

This ankle weight system is fully integrated into the drysuit and boot and therefore impossible to lose. With four lead ingots per leg (eight supplied in total), fine buoyancy trimming is possible and easy to achieve. There is an adjustment buckle to secure them in place on your ankle.
Comes complete with 1kg of lead (there is room to add a further).
Opinions on the necessity of ankle weights are strongly held, but it is a fact that some divers when using many brands of fins feel much happier in the water when using them.
Although the pouches are permanently attached the weights can easily be removed.
We do not recommend this option when compressed neoprene socks are also being specified as the weight system can make putting rock/neoprene boots on difficult.

Dry Suit Option - Name Badge

Having your name on your suit makes it easier to recognise when it's hanging up and makes you more easily identified when you're wearing it. Great for instructors, expedition divers and a good way to remind new buddies and skippers who you are! When ordering, state if you want a national flag included. The letters are embroiderd onto a badge and then stiched onto the suit, which means that, with care, it can be removed if necessary.
When you click on the "Add to Cart" button you will be asked to the enter what you want embroidered onto the badge (check your spelling and not too rude please!) and what National flag, if any.

Nova Option-Allowance for extra thick undersuits

This option is for divers that dive consistently in very thick under suits such 400gsm Thinsulate suits or Weezle Extremes. We add 4cm to the chest, waist, seat and body cord. 3cm to thigh and calf, and 2cm to the bicep. Measure yourself in the NORMAL way do not add extra yourself. Please be aware that these additions will obviously make the suit rather baggy when a conventional undersuits (250gsm Thinsulate, Fourth element Artic's) are worn.

Dry Suit Option - No Valves Fitted to Suit

Over the years Nova drysuits have been used for many activities in the water other than diving. For this reason you may not require valves. So to order your suit without valves or valve patches select this option. This makes the suit cheaper, hence the "minus" cost of £25.
